Who We Are
Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells CFR's are a charity providing an emergency medical response within the community. The team is made up of volunteer responders, trained to attend emergency calls alongside the ambulance service, as well as fundraisers and support volunteers.
First Responders
Our responders are community volunteers who are trained to respond to emergency calls in conjunction with South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).
As they respond in the local areas where they live and work they are able to attend the scene of an emergency within a few minutes, and often before the emergency service arrives. They are able to offer life-saving first aid further increasing the patient’s chances of survival.
Across Kent, Surrey and Sussex and north east Hampshire SECAmb CFRs attend roughly 20,000 emergency calls per year of which more than 10,000 are categorised as life-threatening including more than 1,000 of which are cardiac/respiratory arrest calls.
Calls we attend
Our responders attend a variety of calls including:
Cardiac/Respiratory Arrest
Choking
Chest Pain/Cardiac Problems
Breathing/ENT Problems
Stroke/Neurological
Unconscious/Faint
Allergic Reaction
Bleeding
Diabetic problems

CPR Awareness and PADS
Alongside responding to emergency calls our whole team of volunteers are dedicated to furthering the awareness of CPR as well as providing Public Access Defibrillators within their communities. They attend local events to raise funds for the team and provide regular free training and awareness sessions across the area.
Make a Donation
There are so many ways that you can support us with a donation, whether a one off donation, regular donation or corporate sponsorship, your money will go towards our efforts to provide a community response to medical emergencies as well as providing Public Access Defibrillators and enhancing local knowledge and training on how to use them.
Our charity is entirely supported by your donations and sponsorship, this includes all the team uniform and equipment for responding as well as all the resources and expenses for the awareness courses and training classes that we provide. All Public Access Defibrillators are provided through community donations and fundraising and we are constantly working towards increasing the number of these in the community alongside awareness and training.
One-Time Donation
It costs around £1,800 to kit out each of our responders and get them on the road and all of this money is raised through donations and fundraising events. Our fundraising also provides Public Access Defibrillators in the community and helps to support training and awareness courses.
