Frequently Asked Questions
If we've not got your question just get in touch!
Do you respond in place of an ambulance?
No, we always dispatched alongside an ambulance but as we are local we can often arrive on scene more quickly and give immediate and often critical care to patients ahead of an ambulance arriving.
I'm interested in becoming a CFR but live outside the Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells Area. Can I still sign up?
The are Community First Responders based all over the country and recruitment is generally handled by the local ambulance service. For Kent, Sussex and Surrey this is the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust and information about CFR recruitment in other areas can be found on their website.
I want to join the group but don't want to be a CFR. Do you have other roles within the team?
We have a team of support volunteers who assist with fundraising and training events, along with the day to day running of the charity. We're always looking for new people to join the team, whether you can give a few hours a month or a few hours a day! To find out more, please get in touch
I want to trace a CFR or Ambulance crew that attended someone I know to say thank you. How can I do this?
Please get in touch with the South East Coast Ambulance Service Patient Experience Team at pet@secamb.nhs.uk for more information about a call we've attended. You can also send compliments to our CFRs and other ambulance crew by email to compliments@secamb.nhs.uk.
If I make a donation, can I decide what my money is used for?
Many people make donations for a specific purpose and we are happy to accommodate this wherever we can, just ask. Many people choose to fundraise for a Public Access Defibrillator in a specific location or in memory of a particular person and we are more than happy to support this, please get in touch.
