Make a Donation
There are so many ways that you can support us with a donation, whether a one off donation, regular donation or corporate sponsorship, your money will go towards our efforts to provide a community response to medical emergencies as well as providing Public Access Defibrillators and enhancing local knowledge and training on how to use them.
Our group is entirely supported by your donations and sponsorship, this includes all the team uniform and equipment for responding as well as all the resources and expenses for the awareness courses and training classes that we provide. All Public Access Defibrillators are provided through community donations and fundraising and we are constantly working towards increasing the number of these in the community alongside awareness and training.
One-Time Donation
It costs around £1,800 to kit out each of our responders and get them on the road and all of this money is raised through donations and fundraising events. Our fundraising also provides Public Access Defibrillators in the community and helps to support training and awareness courses.
Where does your money go?
Team uniform and equipment
It costs approximately £1,800 for each Community First Responder to be fully kitted up. This includes a full kit bag with observation equipment as well as an Automated External Defibrillator. All of our responders have their own personally issue kit to enable them to respond to calls in the community at any time.
Some equipment requires replacing and renewing at times and your donations will ensure that this can be done when required.
Public Access Defibrillators
We are always looking to increase the number of publicly available defibrillators in the community. Each Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) site costs around £1,500 to set up and includes an Defibrillator and secure storage cabinet which is access by a code provided by the 999 call handler in the event of a nearby cardiac arrest.
If you would like to fundraise or donate for a PAD in a specific location, or in the memory of someone that it may have helped, then please contact us.
Courses and Awareness Events
As well as providing PAD sites in the community we are also committed to improve local awareness of the equipment and how to use it. We provide courses on what to do if you come across a medical emergency including how to perform safe and effective bystander CPR and how to use a defibrillator. All of our courses are free to attend and taught by our volunteer responders, your money will go towards covering our costs of hosting these classes.
How else can you help?
If you are unable to make a donation there are lots of other ways you can help!
There are many ways to help the team without directly making donations or becoming a responder.
We are always looking for spaces to hold awareness events and team meetings, this can be halls, meeting rooms, offices or any other space that you can offer.
If you are an employer you might consider enabling your employees to train as a Community First Responder and respond to limited time critical calls in the local community during working hours.
If you are able to offer your time and would like to get involved with the team then we are always on the look out for non-responding volunteers to help at fundraising events or with team admin.
